// LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF CHORA TINOS, TAXIDI WAS BORN FROM THE SEA OF DREAMS SHARED BY MANTHOS KALOUMENOS // greek from kardiani, tinos // AND VIRGINIE MUYS // french-belgian //

// AFTER MANY YEARS WORKING AROUND THE WORLD IN DESIGN, ART AND FASHION, WE HAVE RETURNED TO MANTHOS’ ISLAND TO CREATE A MULTIDISCIPLINARY SPACE ROOTED IN ART, AND CULTURE //

// DRIVEN BY THE MAGICAL PHILOSOPHY OF THE CAVAFY POEM « ITHACA », WE IMAGINED A SPACE WHERE PEOPLE COULD LEARN AND ABSORB: to slow down and discover, listen, connect, and share //

// OUR GOAL IS TO REVITALIZE THE RICH TRADITION OF ARTS AND CRAFTS ACROSS GREECE BY CREATING A SPACE WHERE EXCHANGE, IN ITS VARIOUS FORMS, IS POSSIBLE //

// TO THIS END, TAXIDI IS MANY THINGS: // a shop, a café, a gallery, and a workshop //

// in short: // A PLACE FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, BEAUTY, ART AND PASSION TO MEET //

// TINOS HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISLAND RICH IN CULTURAL EXCHANGE, ARTS, AND CRAFTS // famous sculptors and painters, such as nikolaos gysis, yannoulis chalepas and nikiforos lytras were all born here //

// THE ISLAND HAS ALSO BEEN ATTRACTING AN INCREASING NUMBER OF BOTH LOCAL AND FOREIGN ARTISTS AND CRAFTSPEOPLE. TAXIDI WILL LEVERAGE THE ABUNDANCE OF BEAUTY AND KNOWLEDGE ON TINOS, IN THE SPIRIT OF REVITALIZATION AND EXCHANGE ACROSS CULTURES //

WORKSHOPS ACTIVITIES & SPECIAL EVENTS

TAXIDI is devoted to building a bridge between the boundless natural beauty Tinos has to offer, and the artists and craftspeople who are inspired by the island.

TAXIDI is a space of revitalization. Our educational programming is rooted in workshops with local and foreign artists and craftspeople in various fields, including: painting, drawing, music, natural dye, woodcarving, weaving, photography, and ceramics.

In addition to artistic offerings, we are devoted to leveraging other skills on the island, such as cooking, writing, flower arranging, poetry, and philosophy.

Programming will be for all ages, with a specific focus on children. All workshops will take place onsite, with an emphasis on the summer.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE PROGRAM ON OUR INSTAGRAM STORIES.
WORKSHOP WILL BE PLANNED ORGANICALLY WITH THE ARTISTS ON TINOS DURING THE SUMMER.
